After the boat portion the group has lunch with feet in the sand at Mawimbi, one course plus one drink, then free time to swim in the shallow water, walk the beach or wander the colorful streets of the town center. Transport, taxes, entrance fees, boat drinks and lunch are all rolled into the price, leaving only tips outside it. What To Expect From The Tour

• Pack for sun. The listing recommends sunglasses, a hat and biodegradable sunscreen. You will be out on the water and on sandbars for a good stretch of the day, so sun protection matters more than almost anything else you bring.
• French only. The entire day runs in French, and the guide gives explanations and instructions in no other language.
• Long day, early start. Plan for 11 hours from pickup to return, with a very early morning departure.
